First case of the "omicron-ninja" strain confirmed in Minsk
A case of the "omicron ninja" strain of coronavirus has been confirmed in a Minsk’s laboratory for the first time, Minsk-News reports. We remind you that children 5+ years old are vaccination in Belarus from covid.
The "ninja" strain, or "omicron 4/5", is the fifth line of the mutated virus originating from South Africa. It is now most common in the USA and Western Europe. The variety got its name because of its ability to successfully evade the immune response and evade antibodies.
Doctors recommend vaccination and revaccination before the autumn season of viruses. According to the Ministry of Health, the number of COVID-19 cases may increase in Belarus by September, as there will be more opportunities for transmission of the virus after the summer season.
Also, doctors advise not to panic, as the healthcare system is ready for a possible increase in morbidity.
