How does the climate change in Belarus?

Over the past 5 years (2017-2021), the average air temperature in Belarus has been 8.1°C. This is above the climatic norm by 1.1°C. Moreover, 2019 and 2020 years stand out in particular. They have become the warmest in the history of meteorological observations in Belarus, the Minsk-News agency writes.

An increase in the average annual air temperature leads to a change in the duration of the seasons. During the 1989 — 2021 period, the summer season in Belarus has become longer by 3 — 7 days.

In the future, the current trends are expected to continue: an increase in the average annual air temperature, an increase in the number of days with a maximum air temperature of 25°C and above. Accordingly, the duration of the summer season will increase, and the winter will become shorter.

We remind you about the new traffic rules for bicycles and electric scooters, which will be relevant in the summer season.
