In high schools, plan of study will be changed

Starting from the new academic year, the number of hours in the academic disciplines "Belarusian language" and "Russian language" will increase in grades 10-11. In total, 53 hours a year will be allocated for studying these subjects instead of 35, BelTA reported. 

Despite the increase in the number of hours for studying disciplines, there will be no expansion of theoretical material. Additional hours will give an opportunity to pay more attention to the repetition and consolidation of the studied material, as well as to improving the communication skills of oral and written speech.

In addition, starting from the new academic year, the number of hours per week for learning a foreign language will be reduced by one hour. The volume of must learn active and passive lexical minimum in any foreign language will also be reduced. There will be less material on grammatical rules and some communication skills.
