Latvia is ready to close the border with Belarus

Latvia wants to close the borders with Belarus and Russia in case of an influx of migrants, Minsk-News reported with reference to TASS.

The decision on the possible closure was made after negotiations between the President of Latvia and the Minister of Defense of Germany. The state of emergency in connection with the influx of illegal immigrants in the border areas of the country has been extended for three months. During this time, the Latvian border was illegally tried to cross more than 6.5 thousand times.

Currently, the only Patarnieki crossing is operating on the border of Belarus and Latvia.
