Licensing for the export of sugar was canceled

Licensing for the export of white crystalline sugar outside Belarus was introduced by the government in February 2022. The Council of Ministers signed a decree on the cancellation of licensing on Friday, October 7, Sputnik reported.

The abolition of sugar export licensing was introduced for several reasons. First of all, the government pointed out that stabilization has been achieved in the domestic and foreign markets.

In addition, the sugar beet processing season has started in Belarus, and there is enough sugar in the country. Also, one of the reasons is "the need for sugar processing plants to more quickly carry out the shipment of sugar under export contracts."

Let us remind you that the Government of Belarus imposed a ban on price increases for all goods and services after October 6.
