Microcloning of plants is carried out by Belarusian scientists

Scientists of the Forest Institute at the National Academy of Sciences are engaged in microcloning of plants. Such a scientific approach to the rapid and high-quality reproduction of trees was used before, but now biotechnology has reached the industrial level, BelTA reported.

In the greenhouses of the nursery of the experimental forest base of the Forest Research Institute, more than 12 thousand aspen and birch seedlings, whose age is 9 months, are grown. The same amount is in the test tubes of the laboratory of the Research Department of Genetics, Breeding and Biotechnology of the Forest Research Institute.

At the end of October, the Belarusian scientific expedition will go to Antarctica for the 15th time.
