New banknote already issued in Belarus

We recently wrote that a new BYN100 banknote will be put into circulation in Belarus from July 1. The design of the new banknote is similar to the old one. Its size has not changed either. But there are still some differences, CityDog.io writes.

The signature of the ex-chairman of the Board of the National Bank was removed from the new banknote. The year of the banknote sample was also changed to 2022. The image of the castle in Nesvizh was updated on the front side. The picture of the reverse side has not changed

The new banknote has 13 degrees of protection (the old one had 12):

  • watermark,
  • protective thread,
  • protective fibers,
  • overlapping image,
  • metallographic printing,
  • anti-copying grid,
  • microtext,
  • serial number,
  • a label for visually impaired people,
  • hidden image,
  • Spark®Live security element (there was a MASK™ protection element in the old bill),
  • luminescence in ultraviolet rays,
  • images in the infrared range of the spectrum.
