Price growth in Belarus may decrease in spring
Experts of the Eurasian Development Bank believe inflation to drop sharply in the spring but to rise by the end of the year, Sputnik reported.
The bank's experts recalled that last year prices in the country increased by 12.8%. In the second quarter of this year, inflation may decrease to less than 4%.
Now, inflation is declining due to price regulation and weak consumer demand. However, domestic demand should strengthen, and price regulation will not help to contain inflation at the end of the year.
As a result, inflation in Belarus could amount to 8%. This coincides with the forecast, which was approved by presidential decree in November 2022.
