Price regulation in Belarus may be eased
The authorities began discussing amendments to the law on price regulation. For some goods, price regulation may be eased, and for others, the limit of trade surcharges may be increased, Sputnik reported.
In early October, the government issued a law on the limit of trade surcharges for the cost of 730 goods.
Now the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade is considering the possibility of reducing the list of goods with regulated prices.
It is still unknown when the new amendments to the law will be adopted. Business unions continue to insist on further changes in price rules. One of the arguments is the projected decrease in tax revenues, as income tax and VAT charges may decrease.
According to the ministry, the price regulation reduced the rate of annual inflation and allowed to achieve monthly deflation in 2022.
