Russia may increase imports of Belarusian fuel
The Russian authorities want to support Belarus and increase the purchase of Belarusian fuel, Sputnik reported. Belarus will also reorient part of its exports to the ports of the Murmansk region in Russia.
The Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Finance of Russia are discussing the purchase of gasoline and diesel fuel from the Belarusian side. The Russian side decided to take this step due to problems with sales in Belarus. The situation worsened after the cessation of fuel supplies to Ukraine.
The main goal of the measures under discussion is to support Belarusian oil refining and the country's budget revenues in the face of sanctions. The parties are discussing how to make Belarusian exports to the Russian market break-even.
