Share of IT in Belarus' GDP is falling
The Belarusian economy has fallen by more than 5% in seven months of 2022. At the same time, the influence of the IT industry on the formation of GDP has weakened, devby.io reported. We recently wrote that foreign direct investment in the economy of Belarus has increased one and a half times in six months.
The IT sector remained in the first place among the main activities in terms of the impact on GDP rates. In addition, this is the only sector that showed growth in the first seven months of this year (+0.4%).
However, the share of the information and communication sector in the GDP structure for the first seven months was 7.7%. The share has been declining for the third month in a row. The maximum was recorded in January–April (8.3%).
