The National Bank may reduce refinancing rates

The National Bank held a board meeting on the results of 2022 and forecasts for 2023. The meeting discussed the possibility of reducing the refinancing rate to 10% per annum, Sputnik reported.

The refinancing rate will decrease gradually during 2023 as inflation slows and in the absence of new shocks. At the same time, since January 23, the rate has already been reduced from 12% to 11.5%.

EDB forecasts the decline in Belarus' GDP to slow down in the spring and to grow by the summer.
