The second BSU nanosatellite was launched into orbit
The second nanosatellite of the Belarusian State University BSUSat-2 was successfully launched into orbit on June 27, Minsk-News reported.
BSUSat-2 was launched from the launch complex of the Russian Vostochny cosmodrome on a Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket.
The launch of the second own nanosatellite was the result of five years of work by employees and students of the Faculty of Radiophysics and Computer Technology of BSU. The first BSUSat-1 satellite was launched into orbit on October 29, 2018 in China from the Jiuquan Cosmodrome.
In terms of technical and technological parameters, BSUSat-2 surpassed the first device. It weighs about 3 kg. All the main components and systems are manufactured in Belarus. The control system has been completely upgraded, two new high-resolution cameras and additional communication channels have been installed.
The data from the satellite will be used to study the radiation fields of near-Earth space, the radiation resistance of electronic elements, and remote sensing of the Earth.
Let us remind you that in 2024, a Belarusian female cosmonaut will fly to the ISS.
