The second power unit of the Belarusian NPP is almost ready for launch

The second power unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant is 97% ready, Minsk-News reported. After its launch, the NPP will generate about 18 billion kWh per year.

Now, additional technological and preparatory work is underway before the launch of the unit. Specialists are engaged in checking the condition of the metal, carry out diagnostics of reactor equipment and pipelines of various systems and load fresh nuclear fuel.

Currently, the Belarusian NPP generates 22% of the total electricity in the republic. And with the commissioning of the second power unit, its share in the country's energy balance will be 40%. The energy will be used in electric transport projects, for crypto mining and heating of apartment buildings.
