Three Belarusian banks will conduct international settlements in yuan

Since April 3, BNB-Bank, Alfa-Bank and Belgazprombank have started making international payments with Mastercard in yuan instead of euros, Minsk-News reported.

Now all international payments by Belarusian MasterCard cards will be converted into yuan regardless of the card currency. Payment rates with Mastercard can be found here.

Banks switched to settlements via Chinese yuan due to the market situation and interbank relations.

At the same time, Belarusian banks continue payments with the Visa system in euros.

The Belarusian National Bank has postponed the launch of a swift payments system.
