When will the heating season start in Belarus?

The heating season in Belarus begins when the average daily air temperature stays below 10 °C for 5 days. The Ministry of Housing and Communal Services assumes that these weather conditions will settle after October 1, Minsk-News reported.

The housing and communal services system is ready for the heating season in 84% of the country's apartment buildings. All work will be completed by October 1.

First Deputy Minister of Housing and Communal Services said that tariffs for housing and communal services would not change, BelTA reported. He explained that tariffs for services are increased by $5 in two steps: on January 1 and on July 1 of each year. There has been no increase on July 1 this year. And no advances are expected until the end of the year

According to the Deputy Minister, tariffs are not being increased for the reason that fuel prices have remained the same. At the same time, now the percentage of reimbursement of heating costs by the population is only 20%.

Despite the stability of prices, according to the minister, the country is trying to save fuel. We recently wrote that Minsk exceeded the plan to save fuel and energy resources.
