Therapy: radiation, manual, wave, shock

Therapy is a practical medical branch that studies the causes, progression and symptoms of internal organ dysfunctions. The therapeutic discipline identifies diseases and develops methods for their treatment and prevention. Thanks to the actions of therapists who studied at the Department of Therapy, the state of health of patients is becoming better and health indicators are being recovered. The therapist is the most demanded specialty, because the range of his professional duties is very broad, therapists practice non-surgical treatment of pathologies of internal organs.

The essence of therapy

Human health includes a combination of not only physical, but also psychological and social indicators. A man feels good under the condition of harmonious interaction of these states.

It is interesting! The definition of "therapy" came from the Greek language and is translated as "veneration", "treatment".

The essence of therapy is to determine the factors that caused the malaise, and the appointment of appropriate treatment. The consequences of the treatment of diseases bring about a significant improvement in the patient's well-being, his recovery. The factors for therapy and for a visit to a therapist are any painful discomfort (both physical and emotional).

The methods of therapy

In therapy, conservative methods of treatment are practised: biological, chemical. These include herbal medicine, immunotherapy and pharmacotherapy. In therapy, machinery treatment is also developed. The additional therapeutic methods are physical conservative methods: inhalations, electrophoresis, hydrotherapy, massage, physiotherapy exercises and others.

Nursing in therapy is an important branch of medicine. The nurse does not deal with treatment; the nurse must have sufficient competence to create optimal environmental conditions and patient care.

For children

Pediatricians are involved in therapy for children. Children's therapy clinics are widely represented both in Minsk and in Moscow, St. Petersburg. And for the treatment of childhood autism, nowadays ABA therapy is used, an effective technique for analyzing and correcting children's behavior.

In case of oncology

Cancer therapy is carried out in 3 directions:

  • surgical intervention;
  • chemotherapy;
  • radiation therapy.

There is no such a method of therapy for oncology that can guarantee a complete cure. But in recent years, new methods of therapy after cancer have being actively developed in Belarus. Modern biotechnologies are implemented into medicine, which affect atypical tissues at the molecular level. This significantly increases the chances of a successful recovery.

In case of HIV

Therapy in case of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) includes 3 main tasks:

  1. stop the reproduction of the infectious agent;
  2. recover immune function;
  3. improve the quality of life of the patient.

Despite the fact that at the moment the treatment is not able to completely eliminate immunodeficiency, the latest antiretroviral medicine significantly improve the patient's state of health, preventing complications of the disease.

Types of therapy

Therapists in their activities use various types of therapy:

  • etiotropic - detect and eliminate pathological causes;
  • pathogenetic - correct the mechanisms of disease progression;
  • symptomatic - eliminate individual signs of malaise;
  • conservative - biological, chemical and physical methods of therapy are used;
  • prophylactic - includes diet therapy, vitamins, sanatorium recovery.

All types of therapy are interrelated and complementary.

Antibacterial

The treatment of certain diseases requires antibiotic therapy, which is aimed at neutralization of the multiplication of pathogens of the infectious process. Antibiotics differentiate into classes and groups, depending on the spectrum of action and pharmacokinetic qualities. That is why only a doctor should prescribe rational medicine, based on his knowledge of the etiological structure of infectious pathologies and antibiotic resistance of disease provocateurs.

Art

Clinical art therapy is used for psychotherapeutic purposes; it involves treatment through self-expression using art: sculpture, painting, rhetoric, photography and plastic. The creative process becomes the main healing mechanism that allows you to rebuild the conflict situation and see new ways to solve it.

Curious fact! The first who used the definition "art therapy" was the English doctor A. Hill.

Today, other forms of art which are used to treat patients are actively developing:

  • dress therapy;
  • puppet therapy;
  • mask therapy;
  • music therapy;
  • work therapy;
  • case therapy.

Through creative activity, a person lets out his strong destructive emotions, is distracted from the situation, begins to realize his own experience, and let them go.

Bioresonance

One of the areas of alternative medicine is bioresonance therapy. Its supporters argue that electromagnetic fluctuations are constantly observed in the human body, pathological changes of which are developed in response to the disease.

Carrying out such therapy involves the use of a device that reveals an imbalance in fluctuations and normalizes it. It turns out that the disease can be cured if abnormal fluctuations are removed.

Wave

Wave therapy (shock wave therapy) is one of the most effective physiotherapeutic methods of treatment. The doctor regenerates the acoustic waves using an instrument with an applicator at the end. Wave treatment is used to treat joints, spine, fight against burns, cellulite and even erectile dysfunction.

Contraindications to such therapy are:

  • the presence of neoplasms;
  • infections;
  • blood clots in the heart;
  • blood coagulation problems.

Patients report significant improvement after just one short course of such therapy.

Gestalt

Gestalt therapy is a humanistic branch in psychology, the purpose of which is to develop the patient’s self-awareness. The doctor helps a person realize himself as an individual with his own life experience.

Hormonal

Hormones are active elements involved in every physiological process. They are produced by the endocrine glands and control the processes of growth, metabolism, and reproduction. Hormone therapy involves hormones treatment, it takes a year to take such therapy, and in some cases, a lifetime. There are 3 types of hormone therapy: substitutive, stimulating, inhibitory.

Jok

Sujok therapy is an unusual method of influencing the reflex centres of feet and hands. This kind of massage allows you to normalize the functioning of whole organism, prevent the appearance of dangerous pathologies and even provide emergency assistance. Jok therapy is used for osteochondrosis, colds, diabetes, hypertension, neuralgia, asthma, stuttering, and apoplectic attack.

Substitutive

Substitution therapy is prescribed for endocrine gland dysfunction. The patient takes medicine that contain the necessary hormones. Such treatment is often used in gynecology, in cases such as menopause, diabetes, hypothyroidism, cancer, and male diseases.

Intensive

Intensive therapy is a complex of therapeutic measures aimed at restoring functions (blood circulation, respiration) or preventing such health problems. The necessity for intensive therapy (resuscitation) arises due to serious pathologies and critical states of health that threaten life.

Infusion

Infusion therapy is aimed at normalizing structure and volume of intracellular fluids. Such treatment cannot be avoided in case of a lack of fluid volume, an overbalance of individual plasma components. Infusion therapy is carried out with vomiting, oversweating, fever, diarrhea and other diseases.

Clinical

The term "clinical therapy" refers to the treatment of patients in any branch, most often it is used in counseling and psychology. The goal of clinical therapy is a comprehensive diagnosis, finding a solution to the problem and prescribing appropriate treatment.

Cognitive

Cognitive therapy treats mental dysfunctions, corrects intellectual processes (thinking, attention, imagination). Wrong stereotypes in a person provoke an abnormal reaction to what is happening. Cognitive therapy is aimed at changing the initial beliefs, their new formulation and release from personal problems.

Cognitive behavioral

Cognitive behavioral therapy is a sphere of psychotherapy aimed at finding one's own errors of thinking and changing inappropriate beliefs. Illogical thoughts provoke an unhealthy reaction, in order to prevent this, you need to think differently.

Laser

Laser therapy is one of the medical branches in which low-frequency radiation is used for treatment of physiological deseases. The laser is also used to prevent various diseases, normalize metabolism, and correct the activity of the nervous and immune systems. This therapy method helps eliminate burns, fractures, and other skin defects.

Medicamental

Medicamental therapy involves the use of pharmacological means in order to eliminate the pathological symptoms of the disease. Chemotherapy is one of the main areas of oncology in which medicines are actively used. But the use of chemical medicines reduces immune defense, making human health worse. Targeted therapy is one of the modern cancer treatment methods - it fights against abnormal cells, eliminating the negative effect of the tumor on the body.

Radiation

Radiation therapy is a wide-spread treatment for cancer pathologies. Radiation therapy effectively fights against abnormal cells in case of cancer, regardless of their location. Radiation destroys atypical structures, and after radiation therapy such cells become incapable of growth and reproduction.

Magnetic

Magnets act as sources of a static magnetic field, helping to change the speed of chemical-physical processes in the human body. Magnetic therapy has the following activity:

  • sedative;
  • anti-inflammatory;
  • decongestant;
  • analgesic.

Magnetotherapy also promotes the evacuation of toxic compounds from the body.

Manual

During the manual therapy session, the specialist works on the muscles, ligaments, vertebrae, bones and joints using only hands. Such treatment returns mobility to the joint structures and the spine, and help nerve endings. Manual therapy differs from just usual massage, the doctor acts on all elements of the musculoskeletal system, and not just on the muscle fibers.

Microcurrent

Electric current is used both in medicine and in cosmetology. In medical practice, current is used in microcurrent therapy to relieve pain, stimulate cell activity. Low voltage is used in the treatment, while high voltage is called darsonvalization.

There are also microcurrent therapy of face and body. Currents activate biochemical reactions, stimulating the natural production of collagen, which leads to:

  • improving the quality of the dermis;
  • minimizing wrinkles;
  • tightening the skin;
  • elimination of swelling.

You can use the services of a specialist to improve the skin of stomach, décolleté, neck.

Milk

Milk is a truly amazing product. It contains protein, fatty acids, amino acids, minerals, vitamins and lactose. These components are characterized by easy digestibility and beneficial effects on the intestinal microflora. The value of milk therapy is that the raw materials act both inside and outside.

Natural milk cleanses, moisturizes and nourishes the skin, longing its youth. The effect of rejuvenation is explained by the fact that milk elements contribute to the regeneration of epidermal cells. Try to make a cream, lotion and compress mask out of milk, and taking a bath with this healing product will restore the salt balance of the skin and make it velvety.

General

General therapy studies the treatment and prevention of various diseases. Prophylactic examinations, which must be systematically taken, make it possible to identify pathology at the first stage and prevent its progression.

Oriented

Oriented therapy (body-oriented) is a branch of psychotherapy that treats neurosis through body contact. The technique helps people solve various types of mental deseases by acting on a specific area of the body. Despite the considerable number of positive reviews about this therapy, it is referred to the pseudoscientific branches, the effectiveness of which has no scientific evidence.

Sand

Sand therapy is one of the varieties of art therapy. This psychotherapeutic method helps to eliminate internal stress through interaction with the sand. Therapy increases self-confidence, reveals personal value, allowing you to realize your own "me".

Behavioral

One of the most popular branches of psychology is behavioral therapy. This direction considers mental deseases as the result of incorrect skills that are formed throughout life. Behavioralism is the basis of this treatment, so all the principles of treatment are aimed at correcting their behavior and thoughts.

Proton

If chemotherapy is aimed at slowing down cell division (both healthy and abnormal), then proton therapy is more healthy. This method is considered to be the most effective in the treatment of cancer; it is a new means of radiation treatment.

Therapy with family

Therapy with family involves the work of a psychotherapist with members of the family in order to identify and eliminate problems of psychological etiology. At the sessions, the specialist gets acquainted not only with interpersonal conflicts, he also studies the problems of immediate relatives.
