Belarus got in top 20 countries on number of crypto wallets

Belarus was included in the list of leading countries in the number of crypto wallets per capita in 2021, devby.io writes. The report was prepared by the UN Conference on Trade and Development.

In terms of the share of cryptocurrency owners in 2021, Belarus ranked 19th between Peru and Australia. Ukraine, Russia and Venezuela are leading.

The authors of the study name two reasons for the growing popularity of f crypto wallets in these countries. Firstly, it is the speed and cheapness of sending payments in the crypto compared to other methods. The second reason is that storing savings in the crypto protects from inflation, which is progressing in these countries. In June 2022, inflation in Belarus was 1%.
